What types of scaffolding are there?

Types of scaffolding you may require will depend on the kind of project you are going to undertake and the building being worked on. We would always produce a site survey to determine the scaffolding required and provide a competitive quotation for your consideration.

The main types of scaffolding supplied and erected by DCS include:

• Independent or birdcage scaffolding - made up of more than rows of vertical poles or standards connected together, this type of scaffolding is used for single level projects.
• Single pole scaffold - use just one row of vertical poles this scaffold is dependent on the building it is built against for support. This type of scaffold is main used for building maintenance and repairs.
• Suspended scaffold (swing stage) - used for multilevel projects, this type of scaffolding can be raised or lowered using a series of pulleys. This makes it a very versatile type of scaffolding that is often used for window cleaning, replacement or painting.

All scaffolding constructs are made using the same basic materials, scaffolding tubes, couplers and boards.
